A highway interchange north of Charlotte is being renamed after Davidson College and Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, according to ABC-7 San Francisco.

Officials are renaming Exit 30 of Interstate 77 – Griffith Street in Davidson – not far from where the star played his college basketball. The exit being renamed bears the same number as the NBA legend’s jersey number that he’s used his entire career.

Discussions about renaming a part of I-77 in honor of Curry began back in October and the NCDOT approved the renaming on Dec. 7, WBTV reported

Curry put Davidson College on the NCAA basketball map during his time at the school, setting records and helping the team to top their conference for three years straight.

Professionally, Curry is a four-time NBA champion, two-time NBA MVP, nine-time NBA All-Star, nine-time All-NBA selection, an NBA Finals MVP, and a two-time FIBA World Cup gold medal winner with the U.S. men’s national team.
