Harris-Walz Campaign Launches New Offices in Rural NC

Source: N.C. Newsline

The Harris-Walz campaign has opened several campaign offices across the state and most recently has opened several in rural counties, including Wayne, Wilson, Burke, Henderson and Lenoir. These offices, which support not only Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, but also down-ballot Democrats, represent a historic investment in rural North Carolina communities.

Notably, since 2004, counties like Wayne, Wilson, Henderson, and Lenoir have seen a growing Democratic presence.

The campaign planned 323 events across the state, expected to engage over 2,500 people. These events have included Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) watch parties, canvass launches, phone banks, and volunteer training sessions. Since Harris entered the presidential race, nearly 12,000 new volunteers have joined the campaign.

The campaign also plans to hold canvass launches, phone banks, and message and story training sessions to equip volunteers with the tools they need to communicate effectively with voters about the risks of a second Trump presidency.

Wake County Republican NC House Candidate Mike Schietzelt Has Ties to Jan. 6 Insurrection, SCOTUS Ruling Overturning Roe v. Wade

Republican Mike Schietzelt, a 37-year-old married father of four who served in the U.S. Marine Corps as part of the Marine Drum and Bugle Corps and currently works as a litigation attorney at a Raleigh law firm. Voters should be cautious about buying into what Schietzelt (pronounced Sheet-zelt) is selling. Once you scratch below the surface and look deeper into his background, the picture of who he is as a candidate becomes clearer – and it’s not pretty.
