Source: WRAL

Just before the end of 2022, the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill was signed into law by President Biden. North Carolina will see $240.7 million being put to work in the state, according to WRAL.

Almost $26 million is directly designated to the state’s three major military installations in the state – Fort Bragg, Camp Lejeune and Seymour Johnson Air Force base. Camp Lejeune will receive $6.6 million for school modernization, planning and design, and Fort Bragg will receive more than $15.5 million to improve firing ranges, training facilities, schools and a child development center.

Overall, North Carolina Republicans requested more than $107.7 million in spending in the bill, however, all but one voted against the bill. The lone vote in favor came from retiring Senator Richard Burr.

Democratic representatives from the state requested approximately $133 million in the bill and all of them voted in favor of the bill.

An item-by-item list of what was requested and by whom is available here.
