During the month of March, the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina is teaming up with the State Bar Association and Bar Foundation through a program to help address food insecurity and hunger around the state

Called “The Legal Feeding Frenzy,” North Carolina State Attorney General Josh Stein kicked off the program earlier this month, in which law firms, schools, and organizations across the state will compete throughout the month of March for the highest average of food and fund donations to local food banks.

In addition to donating, Legal Feeding Frenzy also allows the state’s legal community to volunteer at their local food banks.

“Helping those who are hungry is always important, but right now it is urgent. We in the legal community here in North Carolina can make a real impact fighting hunger in our state,” stated Attorney General Josh Stein.

According to Feeding America, more than 1.2 million North Carolinians face food insecurity – and of them, 394,300 are children. This means, one in eight North Carolinians and one in six children face hunger in our state.
