
Vast Majority of American Women Under 50 Support Abortion Rights

“We expect to win here,” Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said. “I think we know, [it’s] very difficult for a Republican candidate to win the White House if they can’t win North Carolina. It’s that simple.”

AG Josh Stein wants to bring back the state’s earned income tax credit, which was eliminated by NC Republicans in 2014. Stein’s proposal would lead to an average credit of $520 for working families, with families with three or more kids receiving up to $1,486.

Incumbent Democrat Justice Allison Riggs is a civil rights and voting rights attorney. She is facing off against a right-wing challenger, Court of Appeals Judge Jefferson Griffin. A Griffin win would mean a 6-1 conservative High Court in North Carolina.

“I will focus on cutting needless bureaucracy and unnecessary regulatory red tape … while protecting consumers and creating a stable business environment with consistent and transparent rules of the road,” said VP Kamala Harris.

The Harris-Walz campaign has opened several campaign offices across the state and most recently has opened several in rural counties, including Wayne, Wilson, Burke, Henderson and Lenoir.
