North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper and state Democrats have called out Republicans’ delay, urging lawmakers to separate Medicaid expansion from the state budget.
If passed, SB 527 would allow counties and municipalities to decide if they would like to keep their ABC stores open on Sundays. It would also allow happy hours and delivery alcohol.
Twenty-two private universities, including Duke, Wake Forest, St. Aug’s, Elon, and Shaw, and 15 of North Carolina’s 58 community colleges, have applied to have their student IDs approved for voting.
