The 2026 midterm elections are just over a month away, and the early voting period (October 15 to October 31st) in our state is in the coming weeks.
Ahead of the voting period, North Carolinians can check their voting status, register or re-register to vote, review their sample ballot, find their early voting site or polling place, make a plan to vote, and encourage their friends and family to do the same!
Checking your voting status can let you know if your registration information is correct to make sure you’re all set when you vote. Enlace Latino NC has a handy guide to help you navigate the NCSBOE’s Voter Search when checking your status. Voter Lookup not only has your registration information, but also your polling place, voter history, political affiliation, sample ballot, and more!
Voting and registering to vote in-person at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or online on the official DMV website is encouraged. The deadline to register is October 9th by 5 PM EST, but same-day registration will also be available during the early voting period!
Find your local DMV location here.
If you can’t register in-person or online, you can register by mail. Mail-in voter registration applications are available in English and in Spanish.
