Durham named top college basketball city for fans, Chapel Hill ranked eighth

March Madness is right around the corner, and plenty of fans across North Carolina are getting ready.

The excitement around basketball within our state could not be ignored, especially in the latest WalletHub’s 2022’s Best Cities for College Basketball Fans ranking.

The newly released study from WalletHub analyzed nearly 290 cities to find the best for college basketball fans, with Durham coming in at No. 1 and Chapel Hill checking in at No. 8. 

In WalletHub’s 2020 ranking, Durham and Chapel Hill dominated – taking the No. 1 and 2 spots.
