Freedom Park Opens In Raleigh, First Of Its Kind

Freedom Park is officially open to the public in downtown Raleigh. The park which sits on an acre of land is the first park in North Carolina dedicated to the African American struggle.

North Carolina’s Close Call With a Nuclear Bomb

A military B52 Bomber carrying two 2.4 megaton nuclear bombs crashed in a field near Goldsboro, killing all eight of the crew on board. As the plane crashed one of the bombs parachuted into the mud while the other slammed into the ground.
