The Mecklenburg Coalition Early Voting Kickoff featured organizations such as Unite Here, Men 4 Choice, Progress NC, and Planned Parenthood. Participants also enjoyed food trucks, community, and storytelling opportunities with 134 fellow voters.
Webb does not come from a political career. He was born and raised in Wayne County and says he was determined to run for office after watching the current administration “put themselves and big money ahead of the hard-working people.”
During her time in office, Wheatley has voted with the Republican majority on controversial measures, including Senate Bill 266, which allows Duke Energy to raise electricity rates even higher and shift over $87 million in annual payments from the state’s commercial and industrial customers to residential customers.
