North Carolina Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson is no stranger to posting hateful anti-LGBTQ+ content on social media, but more highly offensive posts written by him have recently been uncovered by The Advocate.
Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson is once again in trouble for things he has posted on social media and once again it’s his antisemitic views that are in the media spotlight – this time, it’s for Facebook posts recently uncovered by Jewish Insider.
If you know the kind of man Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson is then you know that he is a conspiracy theorist who believes women can’t be leaders and has concluded that “we are called to be led by men.” What you might not know is just the extent of his clear disdain for women.
While targeting a school shooting survivor on Facebook, in a recently deleted response, Robinson agreed with a comment that survivor David Hogg was a paid crisis actor.
According to CNN, Mark Robinson posted on a porn forum years ago and referred to himself as a “black NAZI,” wrote “I wish they would bring [slavery] back,” and made disturbing sexual comments. But that hasn’t deterred Rep. Dan Bishop from continuing his support.
“The things that he has said, the things that he has done, the things they have just completely turned a blind eye to, that’s already happened. And I don’t know how they outrun that,” said American Bridge 21st Century’s Philip Shulman.
At a recent meet-and-greet in Rockingham County, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson told an attendee that he believes birth control is “being forced on very young ladies” and implied that providing girls with birth control will make them want to have sex.
Despite being a school vice principal, it’s hard to imagine Scott Lassiter voting for public school funding knowing he supports right-wing extremist state superintendent candidate Michele Morrow and has ties to the anti-public education group endorsed by Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson.
Ken Fontenot is not a household name in North Carolina. Still, for the people who live in House District 24 – which covers all of Wilson County, plus a small section of Nash County – it’s a name they should familiarize themselves with.
“I would love to get [abortion restrictions] down to six weeks. And I’d like to get down to zero. I would like to push it back as far as we could and eliminate as many abortions as we can,” Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson told supporters earlier this month.
