Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson seems to dislike a lot of things – the LGBTQ+ community, powerful women, Black people, public schools, Jewish and Muslim people, a woman’s right to choose, and paying his taxes – but if there’s one thing he does seem to like, it’s expressing his belief that beating children is “a form of love.”
The lawmakers cited Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson’s Republican gubernatorial nomination, his desire to ban abortion, and his history of monstrous comments about the LGBTQ+ community, women and others as the reason why North Carolina businesses may be open to moving.
Mark Robinson has called women “whores,” argued that women shouldn’t be leaders, joked about domestic violence, and defended the likes of Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby.
Dubbed “Mark Madness,” North Carolinians and the Coalition Against Robinson’s Extremism (CARE), launched a statewide campaign to educate voters about the troubling history of the Trump-backed nominee.
Mark Robinson recently complained about the media’s coverage of his speeches. Much like his idol, Donald Trump, Robinson is a thin-skinned master of dishing it out and then complaining about the response.
Judging by his recent campaign stops, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson has been feeling nostalgic lately – nostalgic for a time in North Carolina’s recent past when NC Republican leaders told transgender people which bathroom they could use in public spaces.
Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson doesn’t believe that abortions should be legal under any circumstance and he has expressed those views multiple times. But now he’s trying to pretend he doesn’t remember his past statements on abortion at the same time that he’s reiterated those beliefs on TV and in interviews.
Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson is the favorite in North Carolina’s GOP gubernatorial primary and just like other Republicans, such as N.C. Sen. Ted Budd, Robinson has essentially stopped talking about abortion, or “the a-word,” as he now calls it.
For perhaps the first time, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson aimed his hate and vitriol at his fellow Republicans. It happened while speaking in a church at a Davie County GOP Christmas event earlier this month, WRAL reported.
